Manacapuru Red Back Angelfish
The Manacapuru Red Back Angelfish is a striking freshwater cichlid prized for its distinctive deep red coloration along the dorsal region and back. Native to the Rio Negro basin in Brazil, this variety displays exceptional color intensity and graceful finnage that develops fully in mature specimens. These angelfish thrive in well-established aquariums with soft, slightly acidic water and plenty of vertical space for swimming. They're moderately aggressive during breeding season but generally compatible with peaceful community tanks. Ideal water parameters include temperatures between 75-82°F and pH of 5.5-7.0. Feed a varied diet of quality flakes, micro pellets, and occasional live foods to maintain their vibrant coloration and overall health.
